"My 8-year-old beat me. Legitimately. On a 4×4 Animal Grid against my 9×9 Classic. She screamed for five minutes. Best £0 I have ever not spent."

"I've been doing newspaper sudoku for 12 years. Nothing compares to a live session when you can see someone breathing down your neck with 2 cells left. This is a different sport."

"I evaluated 14 edtech tools this term. Kidoku was the only one our DPO said yes to same day. No accounts, no data, no IT setup. It passed every check before we even demoed it."

FAQ

Questions Everyone Asks

Is Kidoku Live completely free?

Yes. The entire game — Quick Match, Grand Prix, private rooms, classroom mode, and all themes — is free to play. An optional Kidoku Plus upgrade exists for individual users who want extra features, but it is not required to play any session or enter any tournament.

Does my child need to create an account?

No account needed to play. Kidoku Live auto-generates a safe username (like QuickFox44) for the session. No personal information is required to join a game.

Is this a good Kahoot alternative for teachers?

It is a logic-drill alternative rather than a quiz alternative. One room code on the board starts a class in under 60 seconds. No IT approval, no student accounts, and it works on Chromebooks. The live leaderboard drives engagement without requiring lesson prep. Most teachers describe the first session as the easiest class they have managed in months.

What age is Kidoku Live designed for?

Ages 5 to adult. The Animal Grid 4×4 uses pictures instead of numbers for children aged 5–8. Grid sizes scale from 4×4 to 10×10. Adults compete in the same Grand Prix as children — there are no age-separated sessions. Every age finds its appropriate challenge level independently.

Can children chat or message each other in the game?

No. There is no chat, no direct messages, no friend requests, and no social profile at any point. Children compete through the shared leaderboard only. This is a deliberate design choice for child safety and has been confirmed by school DPOs as the feature they value most.

What devices does it work on?

Any device with a modern browser — iPhones, Android phones, iPads, Android tablets, Chromebooks, Windows laptops, Macs. No app installation is required. Multiple device types can compete in the same session simultaneously with no fairness impact.
